Flying Solo Greece 2027
Ancient Greece, sunshine & a long weekend just for you
14–17 May 2027
Villa Amfiario · Near Athens, Greece
3 nights · Twin or double shared rooms
£650 per person
Payment plan options available.
Fancy Greece, but don’t have someone to come with?
Come anyway.
Flying Solo Greece is four days of sunshine, sea, ancient stories, good food, new people and the freedom to enjoy it all in whatever way feels right for you.
You’ll arrive independently and spend the weekend at beautiful Villa Amfiario with a group of people who have all come for their own reasons. There’ll be shared adventures, long meals, beach time, swimming, optional wellbeing sessions and one very special visit to the ancient Sanctuary of Amphiaraos at Oropos.
Some people will want to chat, laugh, explore and throw themselves into everything. Others might take a book to the pool, watch the sunset quietly or skip a session because they fancy a slower morning.
Both are completely fine.
There’s no pressure to perform, participate in everything or be any particular version of yourself.
For a few days, you can simply be you.
Come on your own. Never travel alone. Always have the freedom to be yourself.
Your Weekend
Friday 14 May — Arrive, meet everyone & start holiday mode
There will be one group transfer from Athens Airport at approximately 2.30pm. We’ll confirm the exact time nearer the retreat once flight schedules are available, so please make sure your flight arrives in plenty of time.
Once at Villa Amfiario, settle into your room, explore the villa, perhaps dip your feet in the pool and start getting to know the people you’ll be spending the weekend with.
There’ll be the opportunity for a gentle welcome session for anyone who fancies joining before we sit down together for a simple Greek salad supper at the villa.
No complicated first evening. Just arrive, eat, relax and let the weekend begin.
Saturday 15 May — Ancient stories + a proper Greek dinner
Saturday morning begins at the villa, with the option to join a yoga, meditation or gentle wellbeing session before breakfast.
Then we head to one of the real highlights of the weekend: the extraordinary Sanctuary of Amphiaraos at Oropos.
From approximately 11.30am–2.30pm, we’ll explore this ancient sanctuary and the mythology, philosophy and ideas around healing, dreams and wisdom that surround it.
Thousands of years ago, people travelled here looking for guidance and answers. Today, it gives us a fascinating glimpse into how the ancient Greeks thought about some very human questions that we’re still asking now.
There’s also the option to stay a little longer if you want more time to explore.
Back at the villa, we’ll enjoy a late lunch around 3pm, followed by free time. Swim, read, nap, chat, wander around the grounds or simply do absolutely nothing for a while.
That evening, we’ll sit down together for a beautiful traditional home-cooked Greek dinner, prepared especially for us.
Ancient Greece followed by homemade Greece. Not a bad Saturday.
Sunday 16 May — Sunshine, sea + Greek meze
Sunday morning is yours to start however you fancy. There’ll be the opportunity to join an optional yoga, meditation or movement session, or you might prefer a slow coffee, a swim and breakfast in the sunshine.
At around 11am, we’ll head to the local beach.
Swim in the sea, lie in the sunshine, take a book, wander into town, chat with the group or find yourself a quiet spot and enjoy being somewhere beautiful.
You can choose to buy your own lunch locally or return to the villa for the included late lunch at around 3pm.
After an easy afternoon, we’ll head out at 7.30pm for our final evening together and share traditional Greek meze at a lovely local taverna.
Plates in the middle of the table, good company and perhaps a little Greek dancing if the mood takes us.
Monday 17 May — One last coffee
Monday morning is deliberately easy.
There may be an optional gentle practice for anyone who wants one, but there’s absolutely no pressure. Sleep a little longer, pack slowly, have breakfast and enjoy one final coffee before heading home.
Check-out is at 10am.
What to Expect
Flying Solo isn’t about filling every spare hour with activities. It’s about having some brilliant things planned, plenty of good people around you and enough freedom to decide what you actually feel like doing.
Across the weekend, you can expect:
A visit to the Sanctuary of Amphiaraos at Oropos
Ancient Greek mythology, philosophy and ideas around healing
Sunshine and time at the local beach
Swimming in the outdoor pool
Traditional home-cooked Greek food
Greek meze at a local taverna
Optional yoga, meditation and wellbeing sessions
Sunrises, sunsets and slower mornings
Time to read, rest, wander or explore
Shared meals and new people
Plenty of opportunity to join in — and plenty of permission not to
The point isn’t to “do” the retreat perfectly.
There is no perfect way to do it.
Your Home for the Weekend
Our home is Villa Amfiario, near Athens, with sweeping views towards the coast and the island of Aegina.
There’s an outdoor swimming pool, rooftop terrace and plenty of space to find your own corner with a coffee or book. It’s where breakfasts happen, people gather after a day out, somebody inevitably suggests another swim and conversations that started over lunch somehow continue into the evening.
Twin and double rooms are available, with rooms shared between guests.
For many people, their room buddy becomes a lovely part of the weekend. But your bedroom is really just where you sleep — the villa, pool, beach, meals and adventures are where the retreat happens.
If you feel nervous about room sharing, you’re very welcome to speak to us before booking.
Food
Food is very much part of experiencing Greece properly.
Expect fresh breakfasts and lunches at the villa, a traditional home-cooked Greek dinner on Saturday evening, and our final night sharing Greek meze at a local taverna.
On Sunday, you can choose to buy your own lunch while we’re at the beach or return to the villa for the included late lunch.
Vegetarian options are available, and vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free requirements can be catered for when arranged with us in advance.
Come hungry.

Come because you want to.
You don’t need to convince a friend. You don’t need somebody else’s annual leave to line up with yours. You don’t need to be confident, outgoing, wildly adventurous or brilliant at meeting new people.
And for a few days, you don’t need to be anybody’s partner, parent, colleague, carer, organiser or problem-solver either.
Maybe you’ll join every adventure and stay up laughing until late. Maybe you’ll spend an hour alone by the pool with your book. Maybe you’ll dance at the taverna. Maybe you absolutely will not.
That’s the point.
Come on your own. Never travel alone. Always have the freedom to be yourself.

Flying Solo Thailand
Flying Solo: Thailand
5-12 March 2028 · Phuket + Koh Lanta
£1,500 per person · 20 places · Private air-conditioned rooms
Always wanted to do Thailand, but keep thinking, “I’d go if I had someone to come with”?
This week is for you.
Flying Solo is eight days of island adventures, boat trips, beach days, exploring, incredible food and properly switching off- with a group of people who are all arriving in exactly the same way: on their own.
20 solo travellers meeting in Phuket, heading south to Koh Lanta together and seeing what happens from there.
This isn’t a yoga retreat. There’ll be optional meditation, philosophy and moments to pause and reflect throughout the week, but the heart of Flying Solo is adventure, connection and experiencing Thailand together.
Led by Jax, founder of Freedom Yoga & Retreats, with the travel, accommodation and experiences taken care of once the retreat begins.
Come solo. Leave with stories, memories and probably quite a few new people in your phone.
What to Expect
A week built around adventure, connection and seeing a little more of Thailand:
A traditional Thai massage by the beach
A full-day 4 Island boat adventure
Swimming and exploring the Andaman Sea
Koh Lanta Old Town
A gentle hike through Mu Ko Lanta National Park
Bamboo Beach day
Travel by traditional local songthaew
Fresh, delicious Thai food
Plenty of free time to swim, wander, read or do absolutely nothing
Optional meditation and philosophy throughout the week
Opening and closing ceremonies
A group of 20 people who all arrived solo too
Your 8-Day Journey
Day 1 - Phuket
Arrive at Proud Phuket by 5pm, settle into your private room and meet the group before a relaxed sunset dinner at Nai Yang Beach.
A gentle first evening to put names to faces, eat good food and settle into Thailand together.
Day 2 - Koh Lanta
After breakfast, we’ll leave Phuket and travel south together to Koh Lanta.
Settle into your accommodation, unpack, explore your surroundings, take a swim or simply relax after the journey before coming back together for dinner.
Day 3 - Beach, Massage + Opening Ceremony
Our first full day on Koh Lanta is intentionally slow.
Spend time by the beach, swim, read, wander or do very little at all, with an included traditional Thai massage by the sea.
Later, we’ll come together for our opening ceremony- a relaxed chance to properly arrive, get to know one another and set the tone for the adventure ahead.
Optional meditation and philosophy will be woven into the week for anyone who wants to join.
Day 4 - 4 Island Boat Tour
Today we head out onto the Andaman Sea for a full-day 4 Island boat adventure.
Expect turquoise water, incredible island scenery, swimming, beaches and plenty of time out on the open water.
A proper Thailand adventure day.
Day 5 - Island Life
Today is about seeing another side of Koh Lanta.
We’ll explore the characterful streets of Koh Lanta Old Town, with time to wander, browse, eat and soak up the slower rhythm of island life.
Then we’ll head into Mu Ko Lanta National Park for a gentle hike - nothing crazy, just enough to stretch the legs and explore the jungle, coastline and beautiful scenery.
Day 6 - Bamboo Beach + Closing Ceremony
For our final full day on Koh Lanta, we’ll travel by traditional local songthaew to beautiful Bamboo Beach.
Swim, relax, explore, read, chat or simply enjoy a full day with nowhere else to be.
Later, we’ll gather for our closing ceremony- a chance to look back on the week, the places we’ve explored, the friendships made and everything we’re taking away from the experience.
Day 7 - Back to Phuket
After breakfast, we’ll say goodbye to Koh Lanta and travel back to Phuket together.
Our final night is spent back at the beautiful Proud Phuket, where you’ll have time to relax, enjoy the pool and settle in before we come together for one final beachside dinner at sunset.
A pretty perfect way to finish.
Day 8 - Departure
We’ll share breakfast together before check-out and goodbyes.
Then it’s time to head home- hopefully with a camera roll full of Thailand, a few very good stories and a group of people who definitely weren’t strangers eight days ago.
Coming on Your Own? That’s the Point.
We know the thought of flying to Thailand alone can feel like the biggest hurdle.
So before you go, we’ll create a group chat for everyone joining. You can introduce yourselves, compare flights, ask questions and start putting names to faces before you even leave home.
Often people discover they’re on the same or similar flights and choose to travel part of the way together.
All you need to do is make your way to Proud Phuket by 5pm on 5 March. It’s around a four-minute drive from Phuket Airport, so getting there is easy by taxi.
From there, we take care of the rest. And the adventure properly begins.
Where You’ll Stay
The journey starts and finishes in Phuket, with the heart of the week spent on Koh Lanta- an island of long beaches, lush national park, local communities and plenty of space to explore.
Throughout the trip, you’ll have your own private, air-conditioned accommodation, so you get all the fun and connection of travelling with a group without giving up your own space.
Your first and final nights will be spent at Proud Phuket, close to Nai Yang Beach, before travelling together to and from Koh Lanta.
Food
Expect fresh, colourful and seriously tasty Thai food throughout the week- relaxed breakfasts, local lunches and flavour-packed dinners.
Some meals will be part of our planned days out, while at other times you’ll have the freedom to choose where and what you fancy eating.
Vegetarian options are available, with vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free requirements catered for when arranged in advance.
