You don’t need a plus-one. You don’t need to know anyone before you arrive. And you definitely don’t need to spend four days being the most sociable version of yourself.

Flying Solo Greece is a long weekend for people coming independently, but experiencing Greece together- ancient mythology and philosophy, sunshine, swimming, local food, shared adventures, laughter and plenty of space to do absolutely nothing if that’s what you fancy.

Some people will want to throw themselves into everything. Others might take a book to the pool, wander off for a coffee or watch the sunset quietly. Both are equally welcome.

No pressure. No performance. Just a few days to be yourself somewhere beautiful.

Flying Solo began with a simple idea: sometimes the thing stopping us doing something we really want to do is waiting for somebody else to do it with us.

Greece makes a rather lovely place to stop waiting.

This isn’t a weekend where every minute is scheduled, and it isn’t about disappearing into three days of serious self-development either. It’s a proper Freedom retreat: optional thoughtful yoga, beautiful surroundings, interesting places, delicious food, sunshine, conversations around the table and enough free time to actually enjoy where you are.

What makes this particular Greece retreat special is the combination of philosophy and place.

We’ll explore ancient Greek ideas around healing, mythology and wisdom at the incredible Sanctuary of Amphiaraos at Oropos, before returning to the villa for homemade Greek food. We’ll practise together, swim if the weather allows, spend time by the sea and finish the weekend over traditional meze at a local taverna.

It feels like a retreat.

But it also feels like you've actually been to Greece.

A little Greece.
A little Freedom.
A lot to come home with.

People travelling without their usual companion.

The point of Flying Solo is that you don’t need to persuade somebody else to come before you can say yes.

Who comes?

Your four days in Greece

Our itinerary has been perfected over 7 years of Greece retreats.

For a few days, you don’t have to be anybody but you.

Everyday life comes with a lot of roles.

You might be somebody’s mum, dad, partner, colleague, boss, carer, organiser, problem-solver or the person everybody else relies on. You might be the funny one, the sensible one, the confident one or the quiet one.

Flying Solo gives you a few days away from all of that.

You can join the conversation or sit quietly with a coffee. Dance after dinner or head to bed early. Come to an optional practice or take yourself for a swim. Spend an afternoon with the group or find somewhere lovely and read your book.

There isn’t a right way to do this retreat.

The freedom is in being able to decide what you need when you get there.

Coming on your own is completely normal here.

Some guests will arrive excited. Some will arrive slightly nervous. Most will probably be a bit of both.

We’ll connect everyone before the retreat so you can start putting names to faces and compare travel plans before you arrive. Then once you’re at the villa, there’s no big performance required. You settle in, meet people, share dinner and let things happen naturally.

The lovely thing about doing things together- exploring somewhere ancient, eating around the same table, heading to the beac- is that connection usually takes care of itself.

And if you’re someone who enjoys being around people without needing to be at the centre of everything, Flying Solo is for you too.

What you'll experience

Not included: flights, travel insurance, personal spending, Sunday lunch if you choose to eat independently in town, alcohol and anything outside the planned itinerary.

Meet Jax

Your host in Greece

Flying Solo is led by Jackie Heffer-Cooke, Jax, founder of Freedom Yoga & Retreats.

Freedom’s approach has always been about much more than putting guests somewhere beautiful. The aim is to experience a place properly- to connect with its culture, its people, its stories and its landscape, while creating enough structure that you can relax into the trip rather than spend the whole time organising it.

And for Flying Solo, Jax’s role matters.

When you’re travelling without somebody you already know, there’s something incredibly reassuring about arriving to a host who has already thought through the bigger picture. Someone who knows the shape of the weekend, is there to welcome you in, and can help turn a group of people arriving independently into a community that feels easy and natural.

Jax founded Freedom as an exploration of inner and outer worlds, supporting people to feel more alive through yoga, adventure and meaningful connection. Her retreats are shaped by the places they happen in, rather than simply transplanting the same experience into a different country.

In Greece, that means weaving yoga and reflection together with the country’s extraordinary history of philosophy, mythology and healing. The ancient Sanctuary of Amphiaraos becomes part of the retreat story, alongside shared meals, time by the sea, local culture and the simple joy of being somewhere beautiful with people who chose to come for themselves.

Jax’s approach is warm, grounded and never overly serious. There’s space for meaningful practice and conversation, but also for swimming, sunshine, laughter, long dinners and those little moments that tend to become the bits you remember most.

That balance is at the heart of Freedom, and of Flying Solo Greece.

So, why join us?

Who is Flying Solo for?

Flying Solo has been created especially for anyone who wants to travel but doesn’t currently have the right person to travel with.

Maybe you’re single. Maybe your partner doesn’t want to visit Greece. Maybe your friends keep saying “one day”. Maybe your children are older and suddenly you have a little more freedom.

Maybe you’ve travelled alone before, or maybe the idea absolutely terrifies you.

You don't have to think of yourself as a “solo traveller”. This weekend is about experiencing the beauty of Greece in the safety of a group tour and dynamic.

Why travel with Freedom?

We don't believe a retreat or group trip needs to involve being shepherded from one activity to another every hour of the day.

The structure is there so you can relax. The experiences are there because they’re worth doing.

The free time is there because sometimes the best part of being somewhere completely different is having the time to simply enjoy it.

Freedom has been built around travel, community, meaningful experiences and the people and places that host us.

Flying Solo takes those principles and creates something slightly different: A way to make the trip independently without having to experience it alone.
