Seeking Paradise
THAILAND
ABOUT
Yoga in the Thai Islands
Our Thailand retreats are for people who want more than a change of scenery… they want to feel held by place, supported by great teaching, and connected to the community that makes the experience possible.
We’ll explore the stunning seascapes of Phang Nga, practise in a beautiful wooden shala, swim and kayak through mangroves and canyons, explore to different paradise islands by long boat - and return each day to simple comfort, good food, and the kind of calm that stays with you. YOUR ITINERARY
Here’s the rough flow of each week — a simple rhythm of daily practice, real rest, and a few standout experiences that connect you to the place. Think sunrise Tai Chi, yoga in the shala or on the beach, nourishing meals, time to swim and reset, plus a couple of bigger adventure days (kayak, boat trip) woven in without overpacking the schedule.
Each week provides a unique experience.
Koh Yao Noi (Week 1, 3)
-
Arrive, check in, and land softly. We’ll gather from 5pm for our group welcome dinner on the beach where the group can meet and enjoy good food, perhaps a cocktail and a beautiful sunset.
-
A calm start: breakfast, pool time, and space to rest. Explore Phuket, wander the streets, or chill at the luxury hotel before evening group dinner together.
-
After morning practice, we travel together by taxi and boat to Koh Yao Noi. Settle into bungalows, explore the beach, and meet for a gentle sunset session. Dinner together to mark the beginning of island life.
-
Dawn Tai Chi, shala yoga, and a slow afternoon to swim, read, or nap. Evening workshop and guided wind-down. This is your “exhale” day — simple, steady, and restorative.
-
Morning practice as usual, then a guided kayak trip through mangroves and canyon-like waterways. Return for lunch, rest, and a lighter evening session to loosen the body after the adventure.
-
A slower day to restore. Your included Thai massage is scheduled today (timings vary). Practice, good food, and space to integrate. Optional journalling prompts and a short evening meditation.
-
A full-day longtail boat adventure: Hong + Monkey Island, snorkelling, and a paradise beach only reachable by boat. We keep the pace relaxed and return for an easy dinner and early night.
-
A final dawn practice and closing circle. Transfers back towards Phuket for onward travel. You’ll leave with a calmer nervous system, stronger body awareness, and the kind of reset that lasts beyond the plane home.
Koh Lanta (Week 2, 4)
-
Arrive in beautiful Phuket and make your way to Proud Phuket, a 4 minute drive from the International Airport.
Once you arrive, take some time to settle into the tropical rhythm before meeting the rest of the group at 5:00 PM in reception. From there, we’ll wander down to Nai Yang Beach for a relaxed sunset dinner by the sea.
It’s the perfect first evening to meet everyone, settle in and ease gently into the adventure ahead.
-
After breakfast, it’s time to leave Phuket behind and head south to Koh Lanta.
We’ll travel together by private taxi, watching the scenery change as we make our way towards island life. Once we arrive, the rest of the afternoon is yours to unpack, explore your surroundings, take a dip or simply relax after the journey.
We’ll come back together for our first evening on Koh Lanta and dinner as a group.
-
Our first full day on Koh Lanta is deliberately slow.
First, we begin with yoga on the beach, followed by our opening ceremony- a relaxed chance to properly arrive, get to know one another and set the tone for the week ahead. Next, a delicious breakfast.
There’s time to enjoy the beach, swim, read, wander or do very little at all, alongside an included traditional Thai massage by the sea.
Meditation and simple philosophical conversation may be woven into the day for anyone who wants to join.
-
Today, we head out onto the open water.
We open with practise on the beach, followed by a tasty, nutritious breakfast.
We’ll spend the day exploring some of the beautiful islands surrounding Koh Lanta by boat- swimming in clear water, discovering hidden beaches and taking in the dramatic limestone scenery of the Andaman Sea.
It’s a proper adventure day, but still with plenty of time to swim, stop, eat and enjoy where we are.
We’ll return to Koh Lanta in the afternoon, sun-soaked and ready for a relaxed evening together.
-
Today is about seeing another side of Koh Lanta.
We open with practise on the beach, followed by a tasty, nutritious breakfast.
We’ll explore the characterful streets of Koh Lanta Old Town, with time to wander, browse the little shops, stop for food and soak up the slower pace of island life.
Then we’ll head into Mu Ko Lanta National Park for a gentle hike- nothing extreme, just enough adventure to get us out into the landscape, surrounded by jungle, coastline and incredible views.
A day for exploring, moving and seeing more of the island beyond the beach.
-
For our final full day on Koh Lanta, we’re heading south to beautiful Bamboo Beach.
Part of the adventure is getting there, travelling together by traditional local songthaew before settling in for a day by the sea.
Swim, sunbathe, explore, read, chat or simply enjoy having nowhere else to be.
As the day begins to wind down, we’ll gather for our closing ceremony- a chance to reflect on the week, the places we’ve explored, the people we’ve met and everything we’re taking home with us.
Optional meditation and philosophy will be there for those who want a quieter moment of reflection too.
-
After breakfast, we’ll say goodbye to Koh Lanta and travel back to Phuket together by private taxi.
Our final night is spent in a little luxury at Proud Phuket, giving you the afternoon to slow down, relax by the pool and enjoy the hotel before one last evening together.
As sunset approaches, we’ll head to the beach for our farewell dinner- good food, sea air, sunset and one final chance to sit around the table together after a week of adventure.
-
We’ll share breakfast together before check-out and the official close of our adventure.
Then it’s time for journeys home- taking with you a week of island adventures, new friendships, ridiculous stories, beautiful places and hopefully the feeling that travelling solo never has to mean travelling alone.
ACCOMMODATION
-
This retreat is designed as a soft landing into island life, with comfort where it counts and simplicity where it adds to the magic. You’ll spend 2 nights in a luxury resort in Phuket (your own room, plus a hotel pool for recovery and ease), before travelling on to Koh Yao Noi and/ or Koh Lanta (for week 2) for 5 nights in your own air-conditioned beach bungalow. Both islands are peaceful, slow, and deeply grounding — the kind of places where you naturally exhale.
All taxi and boat transfers from Phuket to your island are included, so once you arrive, you’re looked after. You can focus on practice, rest, swimming, and the joy of being away from your normal pace — without needing to organise logistics.
-
You’ll fly into Phuket, with the journey typically around 14 hours from the UK depending on routes and layovers. Direct options tend to be simplest, but it’s also possible to find cheaper flights by travelling overnight via Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur. We can help you choose flights and share practical recommendations so your arrival feels smooth.
Once you land, we’ve got the local travel covered: taxi and boat transfers from Phuket to Koh Yao Noi are included. You’re welcome to arrive earlier, stay longer, or extend your trip with friends or family — the retreat runs strictly within the dates listed, but what you do around it is completely your choice.
-
Food is a central part of the experience — local, nourishing, and joyfully Thai. All meals on Koh Yao Noi are included, with a simple, supportive rhythm each day:
Daily nutritious “superfood” breakfast
Daily light lunch (typically rice or noodles)
Daily Thai dinner in hand-picked restaurants, with vegetarian or fish options
Dietary needs are welcomed. We can cater for:
Vegan
Gluten-free and/or dairy-free
If you have any specific requirements, simply let us know when booking so everything is set up for you from the start.

MEET YOUR FREEDOM GUIDE
Jax founded Freedom as an exploration of inner and outer worlds, supporting people to feel more alive through yoga, adventure, and meaningful connection. She first fell in love with Thailand in 2004 and has travelled extensively across the country ever since, deeply moved by its beauty, culture, and generosity of spirit.
On Koh Yao Noi and Koh Lanta, Jax has built long-standing relationships with local hosts and communities. Her retreats are rooted in care for the places she travels to, with an intention to work alongside local people and support grassroots development where possible. Each retreat is shaped by the landscape itself — drawing on elemental yoga, embodied practice, and a sense of joy and transformation inspired by Thailand’s natural rhythm.
Jax is teaching the following retreat weeks:
Week 1 - Seeking Paradise,
Week 2 - Adventure & Yoga (co-hosted)
Week 4 - Flying Solo
SOCIAL IMPACT
Freedom retreats are built on reciprocity — community development through personal development. When you invest in yourself, you also invest in the places that host you. We work directly with local hosts and partners, and a portion of profits from each retreat is returned to the community through fair pay, local sourcing, and contributions to agreed local needs. We build long-term relationships with our hosts, so every retreat creates value that lasts beyond the week.
